Who We Are

Our mission is to be a firm that takes care of people

We are children, parents, siblings, and friends. We are business owners. We are committed to being students, teachers, and advisors. Our work helps us grow as a business, enriches our client family, and spurs positive change to our community. We are rebuilding the traditional firm structure and cultivating an approachable, empowering, and collaborative space for our clients, team members, and community to thrive in. As accountants, we’ll ensure that the column foots – and that the balance sheet does, indeed, balance – but we’ll also step out from behind the numbers and guide you through the metrics. This extra care provides fuel for good decisions. Our top-notch tax and accounting services provide our clients with what matters most: time and peace of mind.

Many people are deeply confused about the US tax system and compliance is more critical than ever. We strive to improve the jaded relationship with accounting and tax, by making your experience rewarding. We treasure long-term relationships: we consider ourselves your partner in business – and life – to provide clarity, compliance, guidance, and security.

Your service team

Kevin Eyman, CPA

Co-Founder / Director of Tax Services / Number Cruncher

Kevin was born in Seattle, WA where he spent his formative years. He was an active child, participating in soccer, track & field, and playing point guard for the Fighting Irish of St. Brendan’s basketball team. When he finally found his way to high school, he discovered two things: 1) He enjoyed watching movies in a way that others didn’t and 2) he would be an accountant. By the time he graduated from high school, his formal accounting education had begun and he was routinely assisting other students with their debits, credits, and ledgers.

His education would lead him to the University of Washington where he obtained his degree in business administration with an accounting concentration.

Since that time, he has worked for public accounting firms in Seattle and Phoenix, small and large, working with clients of all ages, personalities, and industries. Most recently, his role was Tax Partner at a local boutique firm in Central Phoenix where he led the tax department on all compliance and advisory services.

In his personal life, Kevin and his wife rescue dogs and watch movies. A lot of them.

His passion is having a positive influence on people’s lives. He gets this done by working directly with individuals to answer their questions, and guide them in their decision-making. The joy of his career is being a small part of you achieving your goals. In a world where people are looking to their accountants for much more than tax rates and bottom lines, Kevin executes the highest level of tax guidance and service with integrity, kindness, and optimism.

Jenna Coffinger

Co-Founder / Director of Operations / Task Master

Jenna brings heart – and a sense of urgency – to the firm. After earning her Masters in Interdisciplinary Sciences with a concentration in Civic Leadership, Jenna spent several years as a wedding planner. She left behind the wedding industry to get a normal working schedule (ha!) but kept her obsession with organization and attention to detail. As partner and operations specialist of a local boutique tax firm, Jenna spent several years – working alongside Kevin – geeking out over spreadsheets and building relationships with business owners. In addition to being the operations guru, Jenna also leads accounting oversight for Copper Ledger’s small businesses, helping owners understand the numbers and the importance of keeping good records and books.

In her personal life, Jenna and her husband have traded away competitive kickball tournaments, creekside camping, and sleep, for three kids. She would also like to take this opportunity (are you still reading?) to say, Go Devils!

Jenna is curating a modern and balanced firm culture, leading the team with high energy through every deadline, and finding supreme satisfaction from cleaning up a messy set of books.

Heidi Tedhams

Office Manager

Heidi is a proud Arizona native and ASU alum who, after graduating, fell in love with customer service, the fast-paced restaurant environment… and BEER! After over a decade of management experience at Four Peaks Brewing Co. in Tempe, she traded the tie-dyes and variable hours for a new opportunity to better suit the balance of her family life. In her role as Copper Ledger’s Office Manager, she gets to maintain her passion for curating customer relationships and the company’s culture as well as being your humble accounting and tax liaison.

Heidi lives in Tempe with her husband, two children, dogs, and flock of backyard chickens. Outside of organizing client information & communication, of course, she most enjoys hiking, camping, reading, and gardening.

Dan Lowery

Tax Manager

Dan was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio where he grew up playing baseball, camping, and making art. He always knew he was a numbers guy and math seemed to come easy to him. This eventually led him to pursue a career in accounting.

After graduating from Kent State University, Dan started his accounting career at a large regional firm before making a big move out West to Arizona. He found a job at a Phoenix firm working with Kevin, instantly sparking friendship as they discovered their shared interests in movies, taxes, and Neil Young. However, good things can’t last forever, and Dan eventually found his way back home to Ohio after a slight detour through Brooklyn, NY. Most recently, he worked as a Tax Manager at a small family office in Columbus. Even though they were no longer working together, Dan and Kevin remained close friends and when the opportunity arose to join the tax team at Copper Ledger, Dan didn’t hesitate.

When not cranking out tax returns Dan enjoys woodworking, camping, designing and building furniture, tinkering with his 3D printer, and watching movies in the basement theater he built himself. His personal goal for 2023 is attending his 55th Dave Matthews Band show.
